ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Karviná Joins the “Key to the World” Project

At ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Karviná, we believe every young person deserves a fair start in life. That’s why we’ve joined the “Key to the World” initiative, a project led by the Eva Pavlová Foundation and the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, aimed at supporting children from children’s homes and shelters as they prepare for working life. 

The initiative connects companies with young people who are about to step out on their own. By offering hands-on experience, mentoring, and personal guidance, the project helps bridge the gap between education and employment. It’s a chance for children to gain not only practical skills but also confidence, direction, and a sense of what their future could hold.

Our team recently visited the SRDCE Children’s Home in Karviná-Fryštát, where 48 children live. This was the first step in what we hope will be a meaningful and ongoing relationship. “We want to show the children what the daily operation of a modern industrial company looks like,” says Andrea Ševěčková, HR Director at ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Karviná. “Even a small amount of real-world experience can have a significant impact on their future.”

As part of our involvement, we plan to invite children for company tours, hands-on workshops, part-time jobs, and even offer the possibility of internships. We want to show them the possibilities the industrial world can offer, and more importantly, that there is a place for them in it. This pilot phase of the project is currently underway in the Moravian-Silesian and Zlín regions, with a focus on long-term partnerships between companies and homes. We’re proud to be part of this initiative and look forward to helping shape a stronger, more inclusive future, one child at a time.
