ArcelorMittal Europe - Tubular Products and König + Neurath: Over ten years of trusting collaboration
The delivery share of ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Altensteig in the volume of König + Neurath is as high as 50 to 60 percent.
On average, three to four deliveries with 25 tons each per truck reach the production hall of the provider of high-quality office furniture and space solutions in Karben (Hessen) every month. Included in these deliveries are square, rectangular, or round tubes, standard tubes according to DIN EN 10305-5, and precision steel tubes according to the drawings of the client, all of which König + Neurath processes into table support structures, frames, and shelving systems.
In addition to reliability, the family-owned company founded in 1925 values the high quality and precision with which AMTP delivers the goods. The tubes also feature a smooth surface that can be well-coated at König + Neurath. "We place extremely high importance on the durability and stability of the processed materials because our high-quality office furniture typically has a depreciation cycle of five to ten years," explains Sascha Knöpp, strategic buyer at König + Neurath. "In office furniture production, high precision and quality are crucial," agrees Martin Jocher, Sales Director at ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Altensteig.
A second crucial advantage is the fact that the tubes are manufactured in Germany. "Especially in crises like the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of 'Made in Germany' has been demonstrated," emphasizes Knöpp. It is difficult to cushion the impact when production has to wait for materials due to manufacturers postponing rolling dates or being thousands of kilometers away. However, between Karben and Altensteig, there are only 200 kilometers. The short delivery distance allows for high flexibility and simultaneously has a positive impact on transport costs and the CO2 footprint.
Thus, customer and supplier share a common vision: sustainable production in conjunction with the highest quality standards.
