From Altensteig for Altensteig: Regional Partners Deliver New School Furniture for Friedrich-Boysen-Realschule

Altensteig, 21 July 2026 - Another important milestone in the comprehensive renovation of the Friedrich-Boysen-Realschule on the Hohenberg school campus was reached today with the symbolic handover of new school furniture. Representatives from the City of Altensteig, ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Altensteig GmbH, and VS Vereinigte Spezialmöbelfabriken GmbH & Co. KG officially presented the new furnishings to Headmaster Klaus Ramsaier.

From the start of the new school year in September, the furniture will fully equip the comprehensively modernized classrooms. The furnishing is an important component of the ongoing renovation project and creates optimal conditions for modern learning. As part of the refurbishment, the school building has been fundamentally modernized and new learning, social, and collaborative spaces have been created.

What makes this project particularly special is its regional value chain. The new furniture was manufactured by VS Vereinigte Spezialmöbelfabriken GmbH & Co. KG, while the steel tubes used for the furniture frames were supplied directly from Altensteig by ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Altensteig. The City of Altensteig financially supported the acquisition of the furniture, consciously investing in quality, sustainability, and regional partnerships.

The furniture has been specifically designed to support the school's new pedagogical concept, enabling flexible learning formats and creating an environment adapted to modern educational needs.

During the symbolic handover, Headmaster Klaus Ramsaier welcomed Oliver Valha, Mayor of Altensteig, and Martin Jocher from ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Altensteig.
