Leading the Transition to Sustainable Steel: Our 2025 Sustainability Journey

From a 56% reduction in CO₂ emissions to industry-first low-carbon steel tubes and a Net Zero ambition by 2050, our 2025 report marks another significant step forward.

Our Sustainability Journey 2025 report is a transparent account of where we stand, what we have achieved, and where we are headed. Not a document of ambitions alone, but a record of measurable progress going back to our 2018 baseline.

Since 2018, we have made consistent, measurable progress in reducing our carbon footprint. In 2025, we reached a milestone that exceeded our original targets:

56%

Absolute reduction in Scope 1 & 2 CO₂ vs. 2018 baseline

29%

Reduction in CO₂ intensity per tonne of tube produced

396,277 t

Cumulative CO₂e savings since 2018

These results were driven by increased energy efficiency, process optimisation, and a progressive shift to renewable electricity across our production sites. They give us a solid foundation from which to accelerate.

Supporting this transition is the continued expansion of the XCarb® product portfolio. Manufactured using recycled steel and renewable electricity, XCarb® Recycled and Renewably Produced steel enables CO₂ reductions of up to 75% compared with conventional steelmaking routes. Verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and Product Carbon Footprints (PCFs) provide customers with transparent and traceable environmental data to support their own sustainability objectives.

•             Concrete Scope 3 reductions with verified, third-party data to support ESG reporting and green building certifications (LEED, BREEAM)

•             No compromise on performance with the same dimensional precision, strength grades and quality as conventional products

•             Broad application across construction, energy, agriculture, and furniture sectors

Scope 3 emissions represent the largest share of AMTP’s total carbon footprint. The primary driver is upstream raw materials, specifically the steel coils and semi-finished steel we purchase. That is why material choice is our most effective lever, and why XCarb® is not just a product story. It is a Scope 3 strategy.

Progress is real, but so are the challenges. Addressing Scope 3 at scale requires supplier and customer collaboration that no single company can mandate. The path to net zero is not straightforward, but the direction is clear, the commitments are public, and the progress is measurable.
