World Environment Day 2024 at ArcelorMittal Europe - Tubular Products

In Karviná, our team, in collaboration with local students, planted greenery in Petrovice u Karviné, fostering a greener community and educating the younger generation on the importance of environmental stewardship. Meanwhile, in Altensteig, employees have been contributing to the conservation of the Black Forest landscape by planting trees. Additionally, many have chosen to ride electrical bikes to work, significantly reducing CO² emissions by up to 8 times compared to driving a car. Our colleagues at Berrioplano, Legutio and Zalain have been commuting by bike, carpooling, and taking public transportation as well as the company bus. Rettel and Lexy are actively participating in recycling waste, ensuring a cleaner environment. In Luxembourg, the team organized a nature clean-up during a lunchtime walk and conducted desk cleaning sessions, contributing to both workplace and environmental cleanliness. Vitry, Haumont and Chevillon saw efforts including planting trees and flowers and providing shelters for birds and insects, enhancing biodiversity and supporting local ecosystems. In Roman, employees have been encouraged to use public transportation instead of driving to work and are participating in tree planting activities to promote environmental health. In Iasi, the team is dedicated to using bicycles or public transport instead of personal cars, collecting and returning electrical waste, running a recycling campaign, and promoting environmental protection measures.

These initiatives demonstrate that our commitment to sustainability is multi-faceted and deeply ingrained in our corporate culture. By engaging in these activities, we reinforce our dedication to making a positive impact on the environment and fostering a sustainable future.
