Climate action plan

"At ArcelorMittal, our goal is to help build a better world with smarter steels. Steels made using innovative processes which use less energy, emit significantly less carbon, and reduce costs. Steels that are cleaner, stronger, and reusable.”

Aditya Mittal, Chief Executive Officer, ArcelorMittal

As the world’s leading steel company, we have a huge responsibility to innovate, implement and successfully move towards a cleaner steel industry. Our journey to become netzero by 2050 is well underway. We have joined the Paris Agreement climate targets and the European Green Deal with the ambition to be net-zero by 2050.

Within ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Europe , at the heart of our approach lies innovation—emphasized by responsible product development, energy efficiency, and sustainable sourcing. These actions align with global climate goals and strengthen our ambition to lead the industrial transformation. “In 2024, we reached a 52% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and 2 CO₂ emissions and a 38% drop in carbon intensity compared with 2018. These milestones bring us closer to our net-zero target by 2050 and demonstrate the effectiveness of our Decarbonization Roadmap. Through our XCarb® portfolio and participation in EU-backed projects like FuelGae, we continue to accelerate the development of next-generation low carbon-emissions steel”, Orlando Ortego, CEO ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Europe.
